Wellington Under 21 Match Racing squad       

A Wellington under 21 match racing squad has been selected for the period May 2008 through to the end of April 2009. The squad initially consists of nine sailors

The sailors are:

Chris Jones
Chris Staub
James Hakes
Josh Junior
Josh Porebski
Matthew Clough
Matthew Steven
Rowan Swanson
Tim Coltman

From time to time it may be necessary to draft additional sailors into the squad for short term periods or for specific regattas.

Teams from the under 21 squad will be coached to participate on the Trans Tasman youth match racing circuit. Participation in regattas is subject to acceptance of entries and the availability of funding from PNYT.

The four regattas targeted in 2008 are:

NZ under 21 match racing national championships (RPNYC, Wellington)
NZ open match racing national championships (RNZYS, Auckland)
Harken international youth match racing championships (Pittwater, Sydney)
Bavaria international youth match racing championships (CYCA, Sydney)

The following regattas will be targeted in the 2009 plan:

Warren Jones under 25 ISAF grade 3 championship (RPYC, Perth)
Hardy Cup under 25 ISAF grade 3 championship (RSYS, Sydney)
National Bank international youth match racing championships (RNZYS, Auckland)
CentrePort international youth match racing championships (RPNYC, Wellington)
